Every year, it’s the one attraction that lets the world look towards Taiwan: The New Year fireworks at Taipei 101, until recently the tallest building in the world.
This year’s show will celebrate the arrival of 2013. Officials said that it will be different from the fireworks over the past nine years.
Taipei 101 has invited France’s Groupe F to design the display. 22,000 fireworks will be let off over 188 seconds.
Groupe F has been involved in several world events in the past, such as the opening fireworks show of the Asian Cup in Doha in 2011, the 120th anniversary of the Eiffel Tower in Paris in 2009 and the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.
A spokesperson said that using advanced technology, the fireworks will be detonated from different angles that have never been attempted in the past. The fireworks will feature saturated colors and little smoke.

Lieber Herr Bardenhagen – gerade habe ich hier in München dank Ihnen (und der Technologie) das Super-Feuerwerk Taipeh gesehen und mich mitgefreut! – Genau so wie vermutlich meine gute Freundin B. aus San Diego, die gerade bei ihrem Sohn in Taiwan xmas & Sylvester in Ihrer und seiner Wahlheimat verbringt!

Auch von mir noch ein “Happy new year”. Ich war auch vorort beim Taipei 101. Ich empfand es als sehr toll das es alles ruhig und gesittet ablief. Wir mussten ja seit 21 Uhr warten, damit wir noch gute Plätze bekommen.
Als schade empfand ich, dass es keinen Countdown gab. Was aber wirklich schade war, war dass es so schnell rum war. Nach den Videos von dir zu beurteilen war das Feuerwerk letztes Jahr besser. Naja man kann nicht alles haben

Taiwan hat mir auf jeden Fall sehr gut gefallen. Vielleicht bin ich ja nächstes Jahr wieder hier.
(Bis dahin muss ich leider chinesisch lernen, damit ich mich auch mit den Eltern meiner Freundin mal unterhalten kann)
